Speciality Classes
Kickstand offers a ton of classes and workshops in just about any form of comedy you can think of - Sketch, Stand-Up, Clown, Solo Performance, Storytelling, Acting and, well weird stuff that’s so funny it just can’t be easily classified. Work with local experts and visiting artists to discover your comedic voice!
Level 1 Improv
Discover the fun of spontaneity and collaboration through improv. Whether you want to build communication skills or grow as a comedic performer, this class introduces the fundamentals of agreement, honesty, and play to help you create successful, fun scenes.
*Kickstand's improv track is a five-level program followed by Advanced Study, where students can learn and apply their skills to different formats. Each week of class builds on the previous one, and each Level builds on the Level before.
*Level 1 includes 6 weeks of instruction with 2.5 hours of instruction each week.
Level 2 Improv
Strengthen your scene work and develop your comedic voice by adding nuance, collaboration, and stronger relationship-based play. This class gives you tools to create honest, grounded scenes that highlight what you and your scene partner genuinely find funny.
*Kickstand's improv track is a five-level program followed by Advanced Study, where students can learn and apply their skills to different formats. Each week of class builds on the previous one, and each Level builds on the Level before.
*Level 2 includes 6 weeks of instruction with 2.5 hours of instruction each week.
Level 3 Improv
Take your scene work to the next level and get ready for the stage! Learn how to build strong openings, develop and heighten comedic ideas, and find the fun with your scene partners. This class deepens your understanding of the Kickstand philosophy while introducing new techniques for creating rich, collaborative comedy.

*Level 3 includes 6 weeks of instruction with 2.5 hours of instruction each week as well as a class show.
Level 4 Improv
Now that you’re comfortable on stage, Level 4 focuses on expanding your stage presence, theatricality, and ensemble skills. Explore new openings, stronger physicality, and dynamic scene work while learning to fully support the group through trust, collaboration, and bold comedic choices.

Advanced Study Classes
Advanced Study is designed for students who have completed Levels 1–5 at Kickstand. Explore a rotating variety of established and original formats that challenge you to apply your training in new ways while continuing to develop your skills as a performer. Includes two class shows.

BIPOC Classes
Kickstand's BIPOC improv track is currently a free / pay what you will affinity class through Level 3. After that, students pay full price (or apply for a scholarship) for Level 4, 5 & for Advanced Study in our general program, where students can learn and apply their skills to different formats. Each week of class builds on the previous one, and each Level builds on the Level before.
